Dance for Dementia: Wandsworth

Nurturing mind and body through stimulating dance classes

Dance for Dementia by DanceWest supports adults living with Dementia, in Wandsworth to build physical confidence and develop cognitive stimulation. Dance combines physical and cognitive stimulation. Research has shown that learning movement can slow down the effects of Dementia on the body and brain.

Dementia is the umbrella term used to describe a group of illnesses which impact a person’s thinking, memory and reasoning, and have a huge impact on a person’s ability to be independent and navigate daily life. Picking up steps, improvisation challenges and changes in the choreography from week to week help to provide a mental and a physical workout.

Our sessions enable adults to move to develop strength, balance and have fun.

We have partnered with Royal Trinity Hospice and Welcome to Wandsworth to deliver this programme in Summer and Autumn 2025. This particular programme is exclusively for people living in Wandsworth and their carers. Not a Wandsworth resident? Don’t worry! we offer similar sessions in other areas - please click below to find one near you.
